The House

Born from
the road.

Voyhound isn’t a shipping company with a pet desk. It’s a house built by someone who lived the version that falls apart — and rebuilt it the way it should have worked the first time.

It began with a move from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City — two dogs, Kitty the poodle and Pickles the labrador retriever, and a single border that any competent agent should have handled without breaking stride. We did it the way you’re supposed to: we hired professionals. One in Thailand, one in Vietnam. Five thousand dollars. Everything booked, everything paid. We were told we were ready.

Twenty-four hours before the flight, the call came. The airline had no clearance to fly over Cambodia into Vietnam — the most basic fact of the route, surfaced at the last possible hour. Neither agent could solve it. The one in Vietnam couldn’t help; the one in Thailand had been a waste of money from the start. What followed wasn’t a hiccup. It was a slow unraveling you only understand once you’re inside it — watching a plan you trusted, and paid two separate people to protect, come apart by the hour.

Of the five thousand we’d paid, eleven hundred was gone for good — “administrative fees” for a relocation that never happened. The rest we clawed back. The only thing those two agents successfully arranged was permission to leave Thailand. Kitty and Pickles made it home eventually. The trust didn’t.

That move taught us something no brochure will. This market is split in two: cold global shippers who treat dogs as freight, and local agents who mean well but can’t see past their own border — which is how an owner ends up paying two of them to hand the same problem back and forth. You absorb the gap between them. In stress. In money. In the pit of not knowing. Voyhound exists to close that gap — one house, one point of contact, accountable from first call to final arrival. Founder-led. Asia-Pacific by lived experience. Run by someone who has stood in that queue, taken that call, and paid that invoice, so you never have to.

What We Believe
I.

The dog is the client.

Every decision is filtered through the dog. The owner is paying. The dog is the client. If those two interests diverge, we tell the owner why and choose the dog.

II.

Quotes come after intake. Not before.

A real relocation cannot be priced by a calculator. We learn the dog, the route, the timeline, and the regulatory weather. Then we quote.

III.

Asia-Pacific is our depth, not our limit.

We specialize in the routes most generic shippers fumble — Bangkok, HCMC, Singapore, Bali, Manila, Tokyo. We also handle the rest of the world by the same standard.

IV.

Founder-led, always.

Every case is touched by the founder until the volume justifies a second pair of hands at this standard. When that hire happens, it will be someone who lived a relocation, too.
